About the Book
Whenever you think of Desired State Configuration (DSC), you think of Windows systems and bring them to the desired state they should be when defined from a configuration.
DSC version 3 threw a whole different ballgame and expanded more to become cross-platform after the class-based DSC resources were decoupled from Windows already, supporting Linux-based systems. In this extensive handbook, you will learn about the philosophy and rise of ideas from the core PowerShell DSC members and community.
There's a whole different set of terminologies to explore, as the core engine has been written in Rust. The book covers this in a bit more depth, touches upon new operations resources that can start building them in, and runs commands by example. DSC is not a PowerShell cmdlet anymore, but instead an executable for different platforms. Just hang back and relax, this handbook will teach you while you drink your morning coffee.
This book is still in progress because of DSC's status being in public preview. There are many more interesting features to come and LeanPub allows me to incrementally bring this in.
