About the Book

SOUND OF STONE (Book 1 of the Interval of Fragments) is an 131,000-word young adult epic fantasy where a young woman learns how consciousness steers her sacrifices toward solving a family mystery and finding a home in a tumultuous subterranean ecosystem.

Shay wants to know why her mother took her and ran away from Shay's father and place of birth. A clue presents itself in a human's bones. Touching them Shay glimpses the infant's last moments. Frustratingly, Shay's access to the story is cut short when the merchant she works for trades the crucial bone away; the heart of their story is lost. At least the other bones are safe with friends. For now.
