About the Book
When I moved back to Glasgow in time for Brexit I lived for 6 months in that abandoned crossing between High St and Duke St which were once the birthplace of the young burgh in the dark ages. Although it lies derelict today, the area is steeped in the ancient history of the city. From the old druid's pass I imagined a story with all the elements of today's huge metropolis, taking place in its flowery streets and in the surrounding woods which have now become its neighbourhoods. This story is from a few years after the great pestilence had ravaged the kingdom of Alba and tells of how a young man with a love for music and the drinking of ale returns to his homeland to find that great secret of whisky making, but instead he finds a dark and possibly even elvish lady who some see as a witch but who is certainly a healer.
About the Author
A refugee of the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile from the age of 1, I grew up in Scotland, UK, then moved to Italy, England and Spain, and am now back in Scotland, trying to recover a space here before the brexit. I have always been interested in art, the natural environment, technology, urbanism and spirituality and how they can affect us doing or being the best we can be.
