About the Book
Part 3 of the Catalyst Off-Chain Impact Series
When Cardano needed secure and accessible digital identity tools, Socious emerged as a key innovator. Backed by ₳489,091 in Fund 12 under Use Cases: Product, the team delivered an open-source Atala Wallet SDK and a no-code Self-Sovereign Identity platform, enabling enterprises and NGOs to issue verifiable credentials without technical expertise. In doing so, Socious advanced three priorities: security through seedless wallets, accessibility via no-code deployment, and ecosystem benefit through open-source public goods.
This in-depth case study goes beyond milestone delivery to assess how Socious is shaping Cardano’s identity infrastructure: how phased Catalyst funding accelerated development, how NGO and enterprise partnerships validated real-world use, and how open-source stewardship supports sustainability.
As the third in a 12-part series funded under Project Catalyst grant #1300147, it delivers rare, data-driven insight into how targeted funding can turn early experiments into durable, high-impact infrastructure and position Cardano’s SSI solutions within the global digital identity landscape.
