I boken beskrivs dessa principer utförligt. En sociokratisk organisation är indelad i kretsar. Varje krets består av en sjävstyrd grupp av människor som delar en gemensam målsättning. Metodens kärna är att alla i organisationen ges möjlighet att göra invändningar mot beslut. Det innebär att feedback är inbyggd i organisationsstrukturen. Exempelvis gör principen att beslut fattas genom samtycke att feedback inte kan ignoreras inom kretsen. De dubbla länkarna säkerställer i sin tur feedback mellan kretsarna. De öppna valen stärker transparensen, förtroendet och samarbetet i arbetsgruppen. En sociokratisk organisation har en dynamisk och djupt demokratisk organisationsstruktur.

John Schinnerer is a founding member of The Sociocracy Consulting Group. As a whole systems design consultant, teacher and facilitator, John develops cultural and ecological systems for a variety of public, private, and nonprofit clients. Since 1996, he has studied, worked, taught and published in the realms of governance, organizational and decision-making systems, human relatings, appropriate technology, and ecological design. He offers methods, tools and techniques that maximize transparency, equivalence and integrity while enhancing individual and group effectiveness.
