About the Book
Modern DevOps practices face challenges from growing system complexity, delivery pressures, and resource constraints both in startups and large enterprises. Generative AI (GenAI) tools offer transformative potential but are often surrounded by hype and a constantly shifting landscape. Innovations and breakthroughs in Generative AI happen almost every day. This book provides a practical guide to applying GenAI across the DevOps lifecycle, using the fictional company “TerraCorp” as a relatable example. It explores many use cases such as code generation, debugging, drafting documentation, incident management, security assessments, compliance, cost optimization, code reviews and AI-driven platform engineering. The focus is on using AI as an augmentation tool, not a replacement. The book emphasizes prompt engineering, human oversight, and rigorous validation. Through practical guidance and narrative examples, this book equips engineers and technical managers with the tools to responsibly leverage GenAI. It aims to reduce daily toil, speed up workflows, and prepare readers for the evolving landscape of Generative AI and its impact on software development and delivery.
About the Author
Harish Srinivas is a seasoned Architect who has spent years navigating the landscapes of Software Development, DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, Platforms, and Systems Engineering. He's collected the requisite battle scars and wisdom from tours of duty across the tech spectrum: from established giants to the hyper-speed world of Indian unicorns.
Throughout this journey, Harish has designed and implemented complex systems aimed at improving efficiency, reliability, and security. His expertise enabled teams to streamline their processes and scale their systems.
Armed with a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, and a Masters in Computer Science from Suffolk University, Harish's real education came from the trenches. His passionate advocacy for DevOps and Security was largely forged by witnessing the many spectacular ways things catch fire when those practices are mere afterthoughts.
He resides in Bengaluru, India, with his wife and children. During his spare time, you'll find him capturing less chaotic realities through a camera lens, lost in actual paper books and debating vital treat-related policies with his Beagle.
