About the Book
Product Managers are constant learners. This practical handbook guides them through the roller coaster ride of the product life cycle. You will find it useful whether you are a product manager yourself or work with product management professionals. It's comprised of short and largely independent chapters, so you can choose to read it in small portions or all at once. Each chapter deals with one aspect of product management and covers best practices and pitfalls to avoid. The sum total provides a clear sense of how product management is done right.
Product managers are the unsung heroes of the tech business. They carry a significant load and seldom get the credit they deserve. You hear about rock star programmers, but not superstar product managers. You meet sales people in their shiny suites and polished shoes, while product managers stay in the back. People seem to think (hope?) that a technology business could be run with engineering making products, sales people selling them and pretty much nothing in between. This fantasy of free and efficient information flow looks great on paper, but doesn't work in practice.
Product managers are the essential glue that holds everything together. Read this book and learn how to become one of the best.
