About the Book

 Before you is an excerpt from the so-named Codex Vo: the autobiographies of the great Varlaquinn family of Turosto. This excerpt is from the 300th year of their reign and was originally written by Prince Lance Varlaquinn, an energetic youth with a passion for combat both physical and magical, and seemingly a disdain for his own royalty. On the second of sunseason the Prince turned thirteen, and on that night a faceless rogue attacked him with long-forgotten magic. From that night on the city was never the same, and the boy trained in the ways of sword and sorcery to defend himself against this unknown menace, only to discover parts of his family history were coming back to haunt him.

The edition has been transcribed from the Turoston 'Tenth Tongue' and includes introductory notes into the Dawnlands' culture and customs, compiled by yours faithfully, in truth and knowledge.
