About the Book
Poker: A family of card games where each player receives hidden information in the form of face-down cards. Most variants of poker share a common system of ranking hands, though there are “lowball” games where the worst hand wins. In all forms of poker, players have a chance to place bets. Their opponents may either accept these bets or surrender their cards and forfeit any chance of winning the hand.
Lexicon: The vocabulary of a person, language, or branch of knowledge.
Poker Lexicon: A living document wherein we take stock of every poker term known to man, woman, and child, as well as some made up by aliens. You can learn the fundamental structure of the game by reading the lexicon from front to back, or you can look up specific terms in our handy dandy index.
