What is it all about?
POET Psalms is traditionally divided into five books. Here in Book Three, you'll find how the linguistic structures of Hebrew and English are valued while also balancing accuracy and naturalness with poetic freedom. There are notes on Hebrew wordplays and attempts to reflect them in English. Most psalms are set to tunes for use in personal, small group, and corporate worship.
In the full text there are over 800 footnotes about source text, translation, and poetic issues. To maintain the Hebrew flavor of the Psalms, several names of the Lord are transliterated and maintains common terms like shalom are used in the translated lines.
