This review of the Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) Apollo Smart1S+ is a thorough assessment and analysis of said PAB. It is also an in-depth study of Singapore's PAB market, and primarily serves to give consumers a guide as to what constitutes a viable PAB. Therefore, the review is done comparatively with the best not-quite-viable PAB in the market: the Mobot Dynamic 16.

This review hopes to give consumers a better and clearer perspective of the PAB market in Singapore, and a more informed way to demand for improvements to that PAB market.

Replete with Background Information

Although this review is written in layman language for light and easy reading, a lot of background information --- including the economics behind why there is seemingly a dearth of honest PAB options in Singapore, factors related to bicycle infrastructure and transportation systems, as well as some description of the sciences and mathematics behind bicycles and PABs --- has been included in the Appendices of this review.

The background information serves to aid an explanation of the function of PABs and how best to use PABs in Singapore. PABs are a very new transportation tool in Singapore. In fact, even bicycles are not familiar to most Singaporeans who are very accustomed to the world-class multi-modal (trains, buses) public transportation tools in Singapore.

The background information also includes a section on proposals for cost-effective bicycle infrastructures in Singapore, using existing world-class road networks rather than uprooting a lot of existing infrastructure to make space.
