About the Author
Mason is a deep tech executive, AI engineer, researcher, entrepreneur and co-founder of Ro (Research online), currently leading engineering and infrastructure for large-scale health research online. He also serves as a college professor in computer science and is the author of the textbook "Pearls and Perils of Machine Learning", utilized in multiple academic courses. His eclectic and deep background combines interpretable machine learning, AI engineering, technology, data science, cognitive science, physiology, medical imaging, and business to lead research innovations.
He holds a Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering (Interpretable Machine Learning, Clinical Decision Support; Faculty of Engineering, McMaster University) and a Master of Science in Neuroscience (Cognitive Effort, Attention; Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University). He also received an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Human-Computer Interaction, Executive Functions; Brain and Mind Institute, Western University). Beyond his degrees, Mason has certification in high performance computing (Compute Ontario), university teaching (Western University, and machine learning theory (University of Oxford).
