About the Book
The book is a compendium of papers and articles on the terrorism, extremism, language exclusion, cultural colonization, cultural exclusion and revitalization of languages and cultures in Pakistan. It provides an insight into the militants uprising in the Pakistan's northwest especially in the scenic Swat Valley back in 2006 to 2010. It is a history as well as a commentary on the terror reign that ruled the Swat Valley from 2007 to 2010.
The book also provides an insight into the political, educational and cultural polices of Pakistan; and, of course, the geo-strategic games played in this part of South Asia.
About the Author
Zubair Torwali is prolific writer and researcher on cultures, languages, social issues, terrorism, extremism and peace in Pakistan. He has extensively written and covered the rise of militants, the so called Pakistani Taliban, in the northwest of Pakistan and has been a powerful voice against these militants. He is also a social entrepreneur who founded a civil society organization Idara Baraye Taleem-o-Taraqi (IBT), institute for education and development, and is currently leading it as its CEO. Zubair is a staunch advocate for the rights of the ethnic minorities of Pakistan.
