About the Book
This is a personal memoir of home hospice care for a classical pianist in New York City whose life was cut short by a mysterious, inherited, untreatable, and incurable brain disease. Unknown to the author beforehand, this is the story of how he came to know her, her family, and her music in spite of the fact that she was bedbound and unable to speak from the time they first met. Written from the perspective of a nurse dealing with a very rare and baffling terminal disease, it is also an honest reflection on the self-doubt, honest mistakes and personal failures behind the heroic hospice nurse persona.
