About the Book
This book is a work in progress. That is, unlike the journey of Ham the Huddler, I don't think it will ever be "done".
Having written it, gotten some feedback, and shared it with a limited circle, I’m finding that I want to do more with it than just sit and stare at it.
After you've read it, I’d love to have your feedback. Whatever it suits you to share with me, I’m happy to hear.
This is an allegory. It’s the story of Ham the Huddler, and what happens to him and his journey of discovery. It’s about ideas and limitations and self-imposed restrictions.
At least, I think that’s what it’s about.
At least one of my friends in the Agile Software Development community told me that it was about Agile. Or something like that.
From where I sit, it’s about whatever you think it’s about.
About the Author
Husband, father, photographer, technologist, and life-long learner. I've been on a long journey of discovery, which is clearly infinite. I've been inspired by my family, my friends, my colleagues, and by the various events in my life. I suppose it was starting my study of the martial arts at 35 that really began my adulthood. Learning about learning, discovering patience and humility (neither of which comes naturally), and finding myself as a teacher all stem from that experience in martial arts. Surviving a heart attack at 44 also served as a turning point and catalyst.
Along the way, I've founded and run companies, been an executive of various kinds, held every role you can hold in a software development organization, become an Agile Software Development coach and teacher, an Open Space Technology facilitator, a professional motivational speaker, a business and technology consultant, and a business and personal coach.
Life is an adventure, and I find glory in the discoveries that come my way each day.
