About the Book
An eye-opening journey about what its like to grow up as "a peanut allergy kid" to an adult with severe multiple allergies, eczema, contact dermatitis and severe gluten intolerance. I am a 33 year old female with a severe peanut allergy since birth, a soy allergy that progressed over the years as well as other food allergies and severe gluten intolerance. For me, living in the United States where the soybean industry is booming, life, social interactions and relationships are affected in ways not easily understood by many. Imagine a life where you have to keep watch not only of what you eat or drink, but also what you touch and inhale. Imagine a world that uses your "kryptonite" in ink, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, lotions, medications, vitamins, detergent, furniture foam and even gasoline. Imagine that it goes by numerous other names, which makes deciphering labels an everyday mystery. Imagine a world where you have no choice but to trust what companies say and pray you have no reaction. People with multiple food allergies and gluten intolerance demand only the most honest and purest ingredients to survive. For those of you who suffer from severe food allergies, you will likely relate to my story. For those of you who have no allergies or intolerances this book will make you appreciate your life in more ways than you could ever imagine.
