For far too long, we've suffered under traditional English grammar taught in the name of "vague art ". So vague is such art that traditional English grammar books have been adding more and more grammatical elements in a bid to explain supposed anomalies.

In this book, we present English grammar in a functional sense. Instead of simplistic Subject-Verb-Object rules and a plethora of sentence types, we demonstrate a unified set of syntactic principles that will see you sing with joy (and in grammar!).

As clear as programming disciplines

If you ever felt that functional programming (computer language type) is very neat, this book will help you see that English grammar is really a consistent ruleset. Compound sentences aren't just "somehow conjoined together " as traditional English grammar has it, but are instead composed of coordinate (peer) and subordinate (hierarchical) parts.

In fact, it is our hope that this book will help someone finally program grammatically correct AI!

Better than your school teaches you

It's not your fault, there we said it. Schools today still teach English grammar in the traditional and confusing way. Read this book and perfect your English grammar!

Schools do not test you on grammatical concepts, only on the use of grammar. As long as you use English grammar correctly, you'll ace your English tests in school. (We can't help you if you're doing a degree on linguistics and being forced to spin around with traditional English grammar terminologies. Maybe find a new field of study?)
