It was developed back in 2005 by Hadley Wickham and since then has become the tool of choice for most data professionals dealing with chart production in R and beyond. This package and its various extensions, provide a wide variety of functions for producing almost any chart type imaginable, from univariate, bivariate, multivariate, maps, networks, etc. The goal of this book is to get the reader up to speed with chart production with ggplot2.
