About the Book
This is an open source snare drum book written in plain text and built using free software, and is meant as a first step towards developing rhythmic phrasing, interpretation, and reading proficiency. The book provides a growing collection of progressive studies written programatically for the beginner percussionist, allowing new studies to be generated on the fly using a small subset of note durations. Likewise, this is not a method book, so it won't teach you how to play, count or hold your sticks. Instead, you should use the book in conjunction with other materials and preferably under the guidance of an instructor, especially if you're new to the field of percussion. Either way, I hope you find this book useful. I welcome contributions. cc by-sa license.
