About the Book
Don't Call It Peace" tells the true stories of 43 children who never returned from Indonesia’s military detention centers in Aceh. These young voices, silenced by fear and buried beneath state denial, are remembered here with clarity, truth, and love.
Focusing on the infamous Rumoh Geudong camp, each chapter details a real child—name, village, family, and fate—based on verified documentation and survivor-led testimony. This is not fiction. These are records of what was done in the name of national unity.
Written by a descendant of the Aceh Sultanate, Don't Call It Peace challenges historical amnesia and gives voice to the smallest victims of one of Southeast Asia’s most silenced tragedies.
If you believe that history must include the names of those it tried to erase—this book is for you.
