About the Book
30 years ago, mankind endeavoured to create customizable children. Humankind wanted to have children with attributes that would further their future careers. Science accomplished these goals but in so doing pushed the boundaries of genetics and DNA manipulation. They created hybrids: human/animal mixes. One of these hybrids, a panther, was a mistake.
Meet Nyeusi Kifu, the panther hybrid who will kill anyone you so desire, for the right price. Nicknamed "Black Death" by the media he has lived up to that name causing chaos throughout the city of New York for nearly 13 years. Mostly considered an urban legend by all but a few who are close to Nyeusi, he has lived in the shadows. That is until a writer finds him and offers him a job for an interview. Through this interview, she hopes to unravel the circumstances behind the hybrid creation, and also Nyeusi's past and his motivations.
Set in a near distance future, "Death from the Shadows" is soft sci-fi that deals with problems that we see in every day in life: segregation, racism, political and police corruption, and a group of individuals that has been marginalized to the point of almost being invisible.
This book is in its early stages. I will be updating it twice a month with new chapters, as I write them. Do not expect everything to be perfect, as there are no editors involved in the project and I am by no means an expert when it comes to grammar. There may be changes to chapters, chapters re-arranged, potential full rewrites to chapters as well. All changes will be fully outlined in the changelog so that you can easily keep up and only re-read what is necessary and continue from the new chapters.
