About the Book

Coding interviews have become an integral part of standard engineering assessments in the high-tech industry today. However, preparing for these interviews can be a time-consuming endeavor for both junior and experienced engineers. It often takes junior engineers several months of dedicated practice to feel adequately prepared, while even seasoned professionals find themselves longing to allocate their valuable time elsewhere.

Having personally undergone dozens of rounds of coding interviews over the past five years, I empathize with the challenges that engineers face in their quest to excel in coding interviews. Consequently, I have decided to compile my extensive experience and insights into this book, where I share effective methods to prepare for coding interviews.

The primary objective of this book is to assist you in conquering coding interviews efficiently, aiming to significantly reduce the preparation time from months to just days or weeks, regardless of your experience level, whether you are a junior or senior engineer. This is also the only book I use to prepare for coding interviews.

Note: Throughout the book, all code snippets are written in Python. I have carefully balanced the content to provide sufficient detail to comprehend the fundamentals while avoiding overwhelming readers, unlike many online tutorials.

About the Author

Cathy Qian

Cathy Qian is currently a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Pinterest, with expertise in developing large scale end-to-end machine learning solutions. She has previously worked at Twitter and Expedia, where she helped build and deploy machine learning applications in ads and search ranking systems. She has received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and published 20+ research papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals before transitioning to the high-tech industry. She enjoys writing and knowledge sharing in her spare time.
