Hi, my name is Jon. For the last 4 years, I’ve worked at the leading A/B testing company in the market, Optimizely. In that time, I’ve spoken with hundreds of people—from Europe’s biggest brands to scrappy start-ups—about A/B testing. This is my 5th self-published book and when I started this role I always had an idea to create a book on AB Testing, however, until recently I couldn't think of a unique selling point that warranted me creating a book
AI has changed this. From my conversation, the one thing that holds a lot of teams back from AB testing to their full potential is time. Most companies don't have dedicated resource for testing. When I did it at companies, my main focus was managing development teams, so AB testing always had to be squeezed in between everything else!
AI promises to change how we approach A/B testing—and I want to show you how.
This book has two goals:
1. Give practical advice on how to be successful A/B testing: When I started learning, most explanations made it sound like you needed a PhD in stats. I don’t have one—and I’m guessing you don’t either.
2. Explore how AI can help automate an Optimization program: With AI reshaping everything, I wanted to see how it can make testing faster, easier, and more useful.
This book will teach you how to choose the right A/B testing tool with real, independent advice (no vendor bias here). Then we’ll get to the fun stuff: how to use **free AI tools** to automate and improve everything from testing to personalization, feature flagging, and more.
I’m not a data scientist. I forget my wife’s birthday. Numbers and algorithms aren’t my thing. Most books assume a stats background. This one doesn’t. It’s written in simple, clear English. No fluff. No equations. Just stuff you can actually use.
