About the Book
Batting at Number 10 is the first book of short stories by New Zealand author Chick Dubber.
Dubber tells warm, human stories - often with a wry twist and a sense of humour, but never shying away from some of the harsher realities of life. They are imaginative and relatable, romantic and realistic, contemporary and classic. The stories of Chick Dubber are always personal, conversational and intimate - and yet they always point to something much larger.
About the Author
The majority of Glaswegian-born Chick Dubber's life has been spent in the publishing and print trade as a typesetter. After decades putting the words of others into print, he began to write his own stories - and they were quickly recognised and critically praised. He has already been published in a compendium of works by new authors, and Batting at Number 10 is the first collection of his stories.
He lives in Auckland, New Zealand with his wife Jenny.
