About the Book
It is 2006. After leaving the ever-worsening situation in Saijo, Sakura finds herself in The Wastes for the first time. Something inside her broke when her parents were killed, cracking further after her brother was murdered. All she wants is to forget.
Deep in the sandy mesas, she discovers a golden colored element that can heal wounds faster than any accelerators she has ever seen. One night while testing the element ground and mixed into warmed water, she discovers that she can sleep nightmare free.
About the Author
Devastation Born Writing Collective grew from a group of friends who played around with turn-based and freeform roleplay for about a decade. At some point, we realized that not only had we made some compelling characters and storylines, but that we had built an entire metaverse around them.
Not wanting to let these stories just fade into a series of evaporated game sessions, we set out to turn these stories into something that people could actually read. We started making stories in tiny little chunks called Storylets, basically tiny pieces of a broader interconnected narrative. Bringing together the best of zine culture and penny dreadfuls, most Storylets are between 5000-10000 words.
Along the way, our writer-members began producing other works, releasing a two-act stage play, Amrita, and a soon-to-be-released novella, Call the Dawn.
