About the Book
This book is not intended to teach Agile, Scrum, or Kanban. There are many authoritative texts, online resources, and renowned coach lessons available to learn the theory. You can even ask artificial intelligence engines about Agile and they will provide excellent answers. Instead, this book aims to share some considerations born from experience. These are thoughts that arise from moments of doubt, where I was tempted to conclude that Agile was not as helpful as it claims to be. However, every time, I found Agile to be a reason to be enthusiastic about it. My experience as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach has led me to consider how Agile will evolve over time. I wonder whether it will be able to survive the new working structure created by phenomena such as the Great Resignation, and how it will outlast others such as the advent of Artificial Intelligence and the landing of frameworks like Scrum outside the world of software development.
Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and XP are all useful and easy to understand in theory, but implementation can be incredibly complex. The application of Agile is not straightforward, as individuals do not always proceed in a linear fashion. While reading about the philosophy is simple and takes only a few minutes, it is frustrating to see content that repeats concepts without acknowledging the needs, passions, and problems of individuals.
About the Author
I am a certified Professional Agile Leader (PAL), Scrum Master (PSM), Product Owner (PSPO), and Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK) from scrum.org and SAFe Agilist 6.0, with extensive experience as a Scrum Master and Kanban Expert (6 Years).
My expertise lies in developing and cultivating the Agile philosophy in companies that seek to optimize value delivery and workflow quality through Scrum and Kanban frameworks, coaching, and training.
In the past, I worked as a System Integrator and Senior Fullstack Developer for over a decade in various programming environments. Consequently, as an Agile Leader, I prioritize harmony between the Scrum Team, Organization, and Stakeholders by understanding team dynamics from every perspective.
I am particularly interested in the EBM framework and more people-oriented ways of measuring Agile, which led me to translate the EBM guide into Italian for scrum.org.
