About the Book
This is a living, breathing collection of my non-fiction writing on Maya history and identity, as shared on social media sites like Threads and Medium. This book explains many aspects of my identity as a diasporic Maya woman from a legacy of writing, who is fighting for indigenous rights and the honor of my ancestors; expect a raw and personal account of my people's history as well as historical context for mesoamerican indigenous nations in general.
My indigenous community is incredibly sacred to me, and as such it's very important that I carefully edit this book and provide fact-checking documentation before taking it out of early access. Buying early access to this book supports me in these efforts and supports my indigenous community: in addition to sharing proceeds with my extended family and community, a substantial percentage of revenue will be donated to the initiative on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) through the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center (NIWRC). As these book writing efforts scale it's also important for me to give back to community efforts in Yucatan (Mexico) and plan to funnel revenue there as wel.
