Ever since I can remember, reading, writing and drawing have been an integral part of my life. When I was young, I loved to make pencil sketches of the pictures that I would see on magazine covers and I did some portraits too. I was a voracious reader and thankfully I still love reading books of all genres.
When I was introduced to Shelley, Keats and Wordsworth, I fell in love with poetry and it was then that my poetry saga began. I would pen small poems for my friends on their birthdays, going-away poems for people when we parted company and poems when things touched or moved me.
That was what drove me to write a small book of poems and here I am with one. It’s called ‘A Collection of Raindrops’.
So, why did I call the collection of poems “A Collection of Raindrops”?.To me, raindrops are more than just drops of water. They signify tears, changing and purging of emotions, cleansing, sadness but at the same time they have always been a source of inspiration and symbolised peace and contentment. These emotions are significantly present throughout the book in one form or another.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully someone reads it and gets to experience at least a part of the myriad of sometimes overwhelming emotions that passed through me while penning my thoughts.
About the Author
I am a native of India and I have been living in the city of Mumbai for the last 40 odd years. I find science and technology fascinating and like reading about the latest advances that have been made. Although I graduated in physics and chemistry, art has always fascinated me. I have always liked to express myself and my ideas in the written form, especially poetry and that's why I have chosen this medium. Reading Wordsworth, Shelley and Keats has served to enhance my love for poetry and has proven to be a strong trigger.
This small effort of mine is the result of many years of work and I hope someone has the patience to wade through at least a few pages. If you do like some of it, do give me a thumbs up and pass the word around.
