About the Book

Skylar, forced from the only home that she's known with her father to live with her absentee mother, must learn to forge her own way in the bitter cold of Alaska. Her family legacy passed down from her grandparents causes Skylar to realize on the night of sixteenth birthday that she is a shape shifter. Terrified and alone with what Sky considers her genetic quirk, she digs for answers in her grandparents' pasts.

While attending a new school she meets Myrah and Tristan, inseparable twins that are polar opposites of each other. Sky can't hide her attraction to Tristan and his deep green eyes. Her erratic shifting she might not be able to hide as well. She can only hope he can look past her soft furry coat and see the real Sky inside. Can she trust him with her secret?

Uncertain how to handle her new school, her old friends, her family that doesn't know her secret, and Tristan, she searches for help.

Can she come to terms with who she is? What she was born to be? Can she keep it a secret from those she loves most?

@CK_Austin_autho

I'm a US Navy veteran, CTI3. In addition to my writing, which I love, I also work as a Veterans Service Officer to help veterans in need. I love what I do both in my writing and in helping veterans.

I have a son, Dakota, age 10, and a fiancé, Tim, both of whom I adore. At least until my son steals my notes and writings to read them off in some obscure corner of our apartment complex, then as I'm chasing him down I ponder the depths of motherly love. I'm constantly prying my manuscripts from his little vise-grip fingers. Dakota's an avid reader much like myself (he snagged my copy of Twilight and held it hostage for over 2 years!).

I live in the Cincinnati area and absolutely love it! Having lived in Texas for most of my childhood, the refreshing rains and cooler temperatures are perfect for me. I absolutely love the cold. That is probably one of the main reasons I center my stories in a locale like Alaska in Shifting Sky. Tim works for Amazon! I mean, really? Need I say more? He loves it, of course. Although, my book buying at said company, he doesn't particularly care for. I can understand somewhat since my Kindle library includes over 2000 titles, but I'll never tell him! And it goes without saying that you shouldn't either.
