About the Book
This poem came to me in 2015 and it seems to be time to share it. I decided to pair it with these quick watercolors of some beautiful children from photos sent by friends. I’m hoping that these words will create a sensation of joy, hope, and inspiration. What’s with the triangles? Edward Steichen is one of my top examples of what it means to be a creator that generates purely from the heart. His photography is superb if you have never seen it, my favorite photo is probably Wind Fire- go ahead and google it to bless your eyes with this art he made in 1921. The triangles are an homage to him and what he called the Oochens. These are characters made from three proportional triangles arranged to form a suggestive shape. These are all based on the Golden Mean and he intended to create a children’s book with them. Just as his project the Family of Man had the aims to bring more peace to the planet, I’m sure that the messages conveyed by his Oochens would have shared the same goal aimed toward the hearts of children.
So here is my small contribution, aimed toward the hearts of children of all ages to ignite a bright and illuminating spark
