First and especially I would like to express my thanks to Farooq Mohammed Ahmed. In many ways he is the reason that this book has made it to a published state. For quite a while I wanted to experiment with and learn about Nagios and especially how to use it on a Raspberry Pi. Sadly I struggled and wasn’t able to find a description of the installation process that was detailed enough or which worked for the particulars of the Raspberry Pi. Then I came across Farooq’s work and it was exactly what I was looking for. In half an hour I was up and running and then I was experimenting. His site has a wealth of information on monitoring, Linux and the Raspberry Pi (amongst other things) and I thoroughly recommend it to others. He was also kind enough to offer advice and give permission for his efforts to be included in the book. You can also find him here on Linkedin.

The Nagios Community

Big thanks go out to the Nagios community. Whether providing advice on Google Groups or Stack Overflow, contributing feedback on Redit or just giving back in the form of time and effort to similar work. Well done all.

Leanpub

Lastly, I want to pay homage to Leanpub who have made the publishing of this document possible. They offer an outstanding service for self-publishing and have made the task of providing and distributing content achievable.
