Good Luck
Thank you, dear reader, for taking the time to read my book! I have shared my own short-term tactics and longer term strategies for using AI safely to thrive in my personal life, work, and writing. We have explored techniques for taking control of our personal and professional use of AI.
I wish both you and myself good luck navigating a world where AI is woven into the fabric of technology we use: products and services like Google Docs and Gmail, Microsoft Office 365, platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Salesforce, Amazon, and many others.
You might think that our only choice is a binary decision of deciding to use, or not use, these products and platforms. I don’t think this is true, however. I think it can sometimes make sense to mindfully use some of these products and platforms in a limited way.
Too many people spend too much time on social media and with stronger AI this trend gets worse. I fight back by using two services:
- freedom.to that I installed on all my devices to set hard limits to the number of minutes a day I can spend on my digital activities.
- Apple Screen Time that keeps track of my activities on my Apple devices. I spend a few minutes a week reviewing where I spend time.
I wish you a happy and productive life.
