Sunday’s Pride

Catching me off guard by coming home late after I fell asleep, I woke up to Mackenzie between my legs. Little did he know, I’d already been eaten out satisfactorily by Leon just hours before so there was no need for him to bother. Considering his tongue skills were about the only thing keeping him on my good side, I allowed him to continue snacking. It wasn’t until I heard him unzip his pants that I rose from the bed and proceeded to the bathroom.
“Babe, is everything ok?” he asked through the locked closed door. Trying the doorknob, he said, “Clarissa? Babe?!”
“I’m fine Mackenzie. Go to bed.”
“Are you coming with me?”
“Goodnight Mackenzie.”
He knew I was mad at him because it was only at those times when I called him “Mackenzie”. If he had heard “Ken” or “Baby”, he knew I was coming back to bed. He heard “Mackenzie” TWICE so he knew what was up. Quietly, he went to sleep on the sofa.
The next morning I awoke to the aroma of cinnamon and bacon. Damn that man for going for my weakness!
“If he thinks bacon is all it takes to get between my legs, he’s got another think comin’!”
Silently, I slipped down the hallway to get dressed in the bathroom, making sure to take my cellphone in case a call came through. As if on cue, once I’d started my shower, my cell rang. Catching it after one ring, I said, “No I haven’t told him.”
“Are you ok?” Franklin asked, sounding worried and less froggy.
“I’m fine. He came home late but by then I was asleep and it was too late to talk or pack,” I explained.
“You didn’t pack up when you got home?” Franklin inquired.
“No. Look, I gotta go.” Seeing where the conversation was going, I chose to end it before Franklin showed more of his possessive side. Minutes later, I was showered and dressed, ready to get this day over with and it was barely 10 AM!
Still holding onto my bombshell, I watched for a moment as Mackenzie set the table for his weekly brunch. Not particularly in the mood to chat with my soon-to-be-ex, I chose to hold my tongue while letting my aggression out on a game of “Saints Row: The Third”. With the game system hooked up in the living room, I had no choice but to moderately interact with Mackenzie as he prepared for his guests.
“Good morning Babe! Everyone should be here soon.” Mackenzie smiled as if I was happy to see him. My reaction shut that down quickly!
“Did you get my text?” I asked without taking my eyes off the widescreen TV.
“You said we need to talk,” Mackenzie said nervously as he joined me on the couch. “I’m sorry I got home so late but I was out celebrating with the fellas.”
“So now your boys are more important than I am?!” Slamming the game controller to the floor, I stood up. “Mackenzie, I’m pregnant.”
“P-p-pregnant?! H-h-how?! You ALWAYS make me use protection!!!” Mackenzie looked so pale I thought he would pass out!
“Don’t worry. The baby isn’t yours,” I said as I walked out of the living room toward the bedroom. As expected, Mackenzie followed me to question me.
“What the fuck you mean it isn’t mine?! Who the fuck you been fuckin’, Clarissa?!”
“Who the fuck YOU been fuckin’, Mackenzie?! You must really think I’m stupid!!”
No doubt caught off guard, Mackenzie scrambled his brain for a response. “What are you talking about?! I haven’t been with anyone since I met you!”
“Wanna try that lie again?” I smirked.
“Lie?! I’m not lying to you, Clarissa!” he exclaimed.
“Is that so?” I asked as I casually walked back into the living room and straight to the desktop computer on Mackenzie’s desk. Within seconds, I clicked on a folder I’d created to store the evidence of his indiscretions. Inside were several intimate exchanges between Mackenzie and his ex-fiancée Sabrina spanning the past year, including an apology for making his ex abort his baby LAST MONTH!!
I stood behind Mackenzie as he reread the apology message. When he looked up at me, he had tears in his eyes. “Baby, you weren’t supposed to find out. I stopped everything after that. I haven’t seen or talked to her since I gave her the money for the abortion. I told her my future was with you!”
“So you lied to her, too. Why am I not surprised,” I said as I turned on my heels to go into the bedroom and start packing. When I felt Mackenzie’s presence in the room, I continued talking. “All you had to do was tell me you couldn’t commit to just me, Mackenzie. I told you how I was when we met and you said you were cool with that. If you still wanted to fuck other women, you should’ve told me. I wouldn’t’ve moved in with you and given away my toys.”
“Apparently you didn’t let them ALL go for you to be pregnant!!” Mackenzie exclaimed.
Slowly, I turned to face Mackenzie. “Sweetheart, once I found out you continued fucking Sabrina after committing yourself to me, you and I were done or did you not notice the lack of sex? Of course you didn’t! You were too busy fucking HER!!”
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Mackenzie let the tears flow. “I’m sorry, Clarissa. I never meant to hurt you.”
Looking at the pathetic lump, I laughed. “Trust me I’m far from hurt. If anything I should be thanking you!”
Mackenzie stared at me blankly. “Thank me? For what?”
“For releasing me from this jail called a relationship. I never should’ve signed on for this bullshit!” I said as I tossed the last of my clothes in a bag.
“So that’s it. No discussion. Just end the relationship?” he asked.
“There’s nothing to discuss NOW. The time to talk was the minute you thought you wanted Sabrina back, not AFTER you had unprotected sex and knocked her up!” Grabbing my bags, I started to walk out of the room.
“WAIT!” Mackenzie exclaimed.
There was nothing Mackenzie could say or do to stop me. Except snatch my bags out of my hands!
“Baby, wait! Come back in the house. We can work this out!” Mackenzie pleaded, holding my bags just out of my reach.
“I don’t stay where I’m not wanted and I don’t appreciate being lied to and made a fool of!” I said through clenched teeth. “Now give me my damn bags so I can go!”
“Clarissa, Baby I DO want you! See?!” Mackenzie dropped my bags to the ground before he dropped down on one knee. As he reached into his jeans pocket, I shook my head as I crossed my arms over my chest. He looked up at me and grinned. “Clarissa, will you…”
“Marry a lying, cheating, no good ass muthafucka like you?! HELL NO!!” Picking up my bags, I finished my rejection of Mackenzie’s vapid marriage proposal. “How twisted are you? I tell you I’m carrying another man’s baby, bust you for cheating on me with your ex and your solution is to marry me?! You gotta be out yo’ fuckin’ mind, Mackenzie!”
Standing to face me like a man, Mackenzie said, “Babe, no one loves me like you do! I never wanted Sabrina back! That’s why I made her get the abortion! I wasn’t gonna let her fuck up what we have!”
Laughing, I said, “Sweetheart, YOU fucked up what we have! The first email was sent by YOU. Or did you forget that sweet Valentine’s Day note you sent her while you thought I was sleeping? You thought you put me to sleep when you put it on me with that dick but, instead, you made me want more. And when I went to search for you, I find you at the computer. Not looking at porn. Not looking at YouTube. No, your dumb ass is sending love notes to your ex while I’m in the Next. Fucking. Room?! Goodbye Mackenzie!”
As caramel as Mackenzie was, his face couldn’t get any redder! “Whose baby is it, Clarissa? I swear to God…”
SMACK!!
“Don’t you DARE use The Lord’s name in vain! It’s not yours and even if it was, I wouldn’t want shit from you for her!”
Fuck!
“Y-y-you’re havin’ a girl?” When Mackenzie started reaching for my belly, it was time to go! That same Valentine’s night, he confessed that he wanted to have kids. Three little girls all calling out “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!” I promptly informed him that I didn’t want nor planned to have any kids.
Now here my ass was pregnant by another man, trynna leave my cheating ass boyfriend.
“Look, Mackenzie. Clearly we’re not meant to be together. I tell you I don’t want kids yet I’m pregnant by someone else. You cheat on me and give up the chance at a dream that won’t come true with me. I don’t love you enough to carry your child or take your hand in marriage. I’m not wifey material because in the two years we’ve been together, we’ve already cheated during half that time. Is that the kind of marriage you want? I know I don’t want to sit up while you’re out, wondering if you’re out there fuckin’ around again and I fa’ damn sho’ don’t need you sniffing behind me wondering what the fuck I’M doin! I told you I didn’t like relationships but you convinced me to give it a try and look what it got us!”
Without another word, Mackenzie took my bags from my hands and walked me to my car. It wasn’t until I fastened my seatbelt did he have his final word. Leaning inside the passenger side window, “I guess congratulations are in order. Getting two beautiful ladies at the same time. He’s a lucky man.”
Smiling briefly before I drove off, I said, “Have a nice life, Mackenzie.
Feeling a twinge of hunger in my abdomen, I drove straight to Baby Daddy.
