Meet The SistaGirlz

SistaGirlz: an Urban Fairy Tale book series contains strong language, drug use, and graphic sexual content. It is intended for MATURE READERS ONLY (ages 18 and older)

After a brief hiatus, I returned to my first two books and decided to continue writing by making a series out of the characters’ personal stories loosely based on events in my own soap opera life. There are many women in my SistaGirlz series but the main characters are Rachael Wallace, Layla Michaels, Raven Powers, Imani Powers, TaMeeka James, Angela DeVille, Nina DeVille, JaShel Jackson, and Clarissa Revelin.

When I was in college, one of my professors encouraged us to write what we know. I know I love writing, being the best mother I could be to my 3 children, traveling, shopping, going to the movies, dining out, sharing positivity, LOVE, and being polyamorous.

Now when I say I love LOVE, I mean the full physical mental emotional spiritual energy mix I share with my Loves. Sex is just a physical release of tension and stress but the LOVE I share with my Loves gives me renewed strength to keep pushing forward in this thing called Life.

And polyamory? Well, whether my parents knew it or not, I was conceived polyamorously. My parents were ethically non-monogamous. Daddy was married with a child when he met and fell in love with Mama. He proposed to her several times but as long as he was married, she said no because that would make him a bigamist. He successfully supported both households for years. He stayed married until his death. My mother knew about his wife and children (one child born a few years before me, a child born a year before, and one child born a year after me) and she still loved him. His wife knew about my mother and me and she still loved him. I wasn’t a secret love child. Because he had his wife’s consent to continue his relationship with my mother, Daddy and his wife were polyamorous. Because my mother consented to continue a romantic relationship with my married father, she was polyamorous. Therefore, I was BORN polyamorous, which definitely comes in handy considering I’m bisexual. (Insert cheesy grin)

By writing my books, it is my goal to help share my love of polyamory and help educate others about various non-monogamous lifestyles. My SistaGirlz are a reflection of my life. They each express different situations my Loves and I have lived and loved through together. However, SistaGirlz: an Urban Fairy Tale book series is a work of fiction. All names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred. To be clear, this is my fictionalized semi autobiography.

With that being said…

FYI there are many different non-monogamous terms. The following are the main ones I’ll be using.

• Bigamous = unethically non-monogamous person with multiple marriages yet not all spouses are aware of each other
• Cheater/Unethically Non-monogamous = selfish dishonest liar
• Ethically Non-monogamous = many loves, no sexual/emotional exclusivity, 100% transparency
• Monogamous = ONE LOVE
• Non-monogamous = prefers many loves, may or may not be transparent
• Polyamorous = may have two or more lovers (male and/or female) with 100% transparency
• Polyandrous = prefers many male lovers
• Polygamous = many marriages with 100% transparency
• Polygynous = prefers many female lovers

Some people only want to be with one person. Some people want to be with many lovers but they don’t want anyone in their business. And there are some people that want to be with many lovers that are aware of each other’s presence, no lies or secrets.

Based on their Loves, which SistaGirlz are monogamous vs. non-monogamous? And if they’re non-monogamous, are they cheaters, ethically non-monogamous, or polyamorous?

Warning: reading further may spoil some of your enjoyment of reading the SistaGirlz series, already knowing what you’ll learn about each character in another character’s book. If you want to skip the spoilers, feel free to go to the next chapter. Otherwise, ENJOY!

As you read the series, you’ll discover that the SistaGirlz identify as either Monogamous, Polyamorous or Ethically Non-monogamous. However, their Loves may not necessarily “match”.

In 2003, I wrote a book called LIVIN’ JUST ENOUGH with the story centered mainly around Rachael “Baby Girl” Wallace. I later revised her story to the What He Did For Her Love edition which allows my readers to see what Aaron and Alonzo did to win Rachael’s heart. I’ve also added details to the backstory of how each of the SistaGirlz are connected to each other. Rachael starts off with her childhood boyfriend Aaron Jones until he dumps her, a choice he will soon regret. Free to move on with her life, Rachael falls for Alonzo Banks. When Aaron returns and neither man is willing to walk away, what’s a SistaGirl to do?
