Introducing Leanpub Topics
We’re constantly working to improve online discoverability for Leanpub authors and your books, and our latest experiment is a new feature we’re calling Topics.
These are encyclopedia-style articles on topics covered by Leanpub books and courses, with references to Leanpub books and coruses as citations, essentially.
These articles are created using AI that “looks at” public information on Leanpub already: the free sample content, as well as the public descriptions and Tables of Contents, of published books on Leanpub.
These articles don’t directly reproduce sample book content, and as a rule there is no verbatim quotation beyond a phrase.
There are going to be lots of these, and they are not going to get a lot of human editing. You can give us feedback if you want to, but please don’t “micro” too much :) These Topics pages are primarily meant for SEO purposes, to help your books get found online, although we do think they will be helpful introductions for people who are new to a topic, and want to know about books on Leanpub they can buy to explore the topic further.
Regarding any measurable SEO effect, we anticipate that Topics will take a while to improve traffic, but they will always be a good way for people to find books and courses; in one sense they’re like big, detailed category pages with explanatory content.
Current Topics include Agile, Artificial Intelligence, Software Architecture, and more - explore them all here.
How To Opt Out
If you don’t want a book to potentially be used for Topics, you can easily opt out on the new “Topic Articles” page in an individual book’s Settings section.
You can also opt out all of your books here:
