Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: How To Title An In-Progress Book
It's an interesting question - for example, do authors who publish serially (like Dickens did, for example) ever feel regret for their titles? Or do they title them broadly - "The Pickwick Papers", maybe even "War and Peace" - because that way, the title can't become a hindrance?
Recently, Leanpub author Max Guernsey, III reached out to ask:
"I'm starting a work of fiction. I want to publish early and publish often. The problem is that it's hard to title fiction until it's almost completely done."
It's an interesting question - for example, do authors who publish serially (like Dickens did, for example) ever feel regret for their titles? Or do they title them broadly - "The Pickwick Papers", maybe even "War and Peace" - because that way, the title can't become a hindrance? Is it a different question for a Leanpub-style book, that may be edited as the authors goes forward, doing more than just adding chapters?
