Part 4: Classic AI: Symbolic Mathematics, Probability, and Neural Networks

Long before the current generation of large language models there was a lot of good AI written in Lisp, and much of it is still worth knowing. We build a computer algebra system that simplifies and differentiates expressions, review the probability that underpins machine learning, implement backpropagation and Hopfield networks from scratch, and use statistical and deep learning techniques to detect anomalies.
