Deuteronomy

Deuteronomy 9:25 - May you be diligent in prayer for your family and those you have been given charge over. May you trust that God hears your prayers and will do what is in his will.

Lord, bless my son with deep faith that you hear his prayers, that he would come to you on behalf of his family and those he leads. Father answer his prayers in ways that show him that you are the God who is there.

Deuteronomy 15:7-11 - May you have eyes that see the needs of those around you, a generous heart that gives quickly, and open hands that help without thought of repayment.

Lord, bless my son in all his work and give him the ability to see how he can help people. Give him the ability to leverage his resources and mobilize those of others for the good of those in need and your great name. Work in his heart so that he will do this without worrying about repayment or his reputation.

Deuteronomy 17:18-20 - May you be a student of God’s heart so that you will know his will, what he loves, and what he hates.

Lord, bless my son with the intense desire to know you. Let him be a student of your Word. As he seeks you, reveal your heart to him that he would love you and not turn away from you all his life.

Deuteronomy 19:13 - May you be zealous for your own holiness; seeking out the sin in your life and putting it to death with the power of God’s Word.

Lord, bless my son with a zeal for his holiness that comes from knowing your heart. Give him eyes to see his sin and both the wisdom and desire to diligently fight it with the truth of your Word.

Deuteronomy 20:3-4 - May you have great courage from faith in God’s character and purpose.

Lord, bless my son with deep faith in you and your purposes. Give him the courage to expand your kingdom in all the contexts you put him.

Deuteronomy 20:10-11 - May you engage human adversaries first with a genuine offer of peace.

Lord, bless my son with a charitable spirit even in the heat of battle. Don’t let him miss an opportunity to display your character to those who desire to bring harm to him.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 - May your children be wise; listening to their father’s instruction and mother’s teaching.

Lord, bless my son with children who are inclined to listen to wisdom.

Deuteronomy 22:1-4 - May you be a channel of God’s kindness to your brothers.

Lord, bless those around my son by showing your kindness through him.

Deuteronomy 23:5 - May the Lord turn a deaf ear to curses raised against you.

Lord, bless my son by demonstrating that your will is supreme. In the face of cursing and insults, bless him.

Deuteronomy 28:12 - May the Lord bless everything you put your hands to.

Lord, bless my son with success in the work you give him to do.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - May you remember that the Lord goes with you and may this be the source of your strength and courage.

Lord, bless my son with the knowledge that the Creator and Sustainer of the universe goes with him. Let this be the bedrock of his strength and courage.
