You've probably already tried the easy way. There's a well-known one-click radio platform — you know the one. Beautiful dashboard, one install script. You clicked, it worked, and for a while it felt like flying.
Then something broke. And you found yourself staring at a generated config you'd never seen before — written by software, for software, explaining nothing. The advice online was to patch PHP files, or hire someone, or "read the Liquidsoap book." Your €5 server was wheezing under a gigabyte of dashboard while the stream — the only part you actually cared about — stuttered.
Here's the part nobody says out loud: in the end it isn't the system that breaks. It's you. And with you goes something worse than an evening — the quiet belief that you can build the thing you want for yourself.
I know the exact sound of that voice. I was this person. So let me say the thing that took me years to learn: it wasn't your fault. You weren't failing at radio. You were failing at someone else's black box.

About the Author
