Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: Supporting a good cause with your self-published book
Regardless of their topic or genre, many self-published authors share some of their books ales revenue with a charity or non-profit organization.
A great example is Leanpub author Phil Sturgeon’s book Surviving Other People’s APIs, co-authored with Mike Bifulco, which is set up on Leanpub to share royalties with the Protect Earth charity he founded.
The organization “creates and restores woodlands, meadows, and hedgerows in the UK — helping to combat the escalating climate and biodiversity crises. “
When you buy the book on Leanpub, you’ll see a “Cause Gets” pricing sider, and a “Causes Supported” section on the book’s landing page.
Through our Leanpub for Causes program, we make it really easy to share royalties with a cause you support. Learn how in this AuthorHelp Center article: How can I share my royalties with a cause?.
And if you’re interested in learning more about Protect Earth and how to found a charity, and Phil’s story, check out this episode of the Leanpub Podcast.
