Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: Selling Additional Digital Content Along with Your Book in a Package
One very powerful sales tool Leanpub offers self-published authors is the ability to sell packages, where you sell your book along with some additional digital content that you have created.
The way this typically works is that you sell your book for a certain price, and then you sell the package, with the extra content, for a higher price,
One very successful example of this on Leanpub is the bestselling non-fiction book R Programming for Data Science by Professor Roger Peng.

In addition to selling the book on its own, Roger has created two additional layers for people to purchase:
- The Book plus some datasets and code files, for a higher price than the book on its own
- And for an even higher price, you can also get a package with hours of HD lecture videos
Another example of how to use our packages feature would be to sell the book on its own, and a package with the book plus the audiobook.
The great thing about packages is that they let you offer readers something of greater value to them, for greater value to you.
It means that you don't have to stop with your book - you can keep on creating more things, and add them together to offer something unique.
