Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: How to Create a Track of Online Courses for Sale on Leanpub

Once you’ve published a couple of courses, it’s easy to create and sell a Track.

On Leanpub, you can create and sell a combined set of courses as a single course “Track”.

Once you’ve published a couple of courses, it’s easy to create and sell a Track.

To get started creating your own Track of online courses, go here:

https://leanpub.com/course_set_admin/leanpub/course_sets/new

Choose a name for your Track, we’ll automatically pick a URL, and click the button - that’s all you need to do to create the Track!

Next, click on “Courses” in the menu at the top of the page.

Click “Add a Course”.

The next page, “Add a Course to Your Track”, looks a little complicated, but it’s really a pretty simple form.

The main thing you’ll need is the course slug from the course you want to add to your course.

You can find all your published courses here:

https://leanpub.com/author_dashboard/courses/published

To find a course slug, click on a course in the menu here.

Then, look in the browser address bar - the last part is the course course slug.

For example, the slug for the following course:

https://leanpub.com/course_admin/leanpub/creating-leanpub-courses

…is:

creating-leanpub-courses

Next, you’ll want to click if the course is required to complete the Track, and set a royalty percentage.

Then, you click “Add Course to Track”.

Click “Add a Course” again and add a new course; in this example we’ll be adding one with the slug:

leanpubmultiplechoicecoursetemplate

To complete the process and publish it, click “Propose Track”, and click “OK” when you see the confirmation pop-up on your screen.

This automatically published the course. Click on the link at the top left to go to the Track landing page.

Obviously you’ll want to add a cover and About information and things like that, which we’ll cover in the full tutorial.

But for now, we hope that’s a good introduction to how easy it is to create a Track of your online courses on Leanpub!
