Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: Go for Walks!

If you’ve scheduled time to work on your book and the words just aren’t coming, don’t worry - writer’s block is as old as writing.

The inspiration to write doesn’t always come just because you’ve sat down at your desk.

If you’ve scheduled time to work on your book and the words just aren’t coming, don’t worry - writer’s block is as old as writing.

Writers have many ways of dealing with this time-old problem. One way we recommend to deal with it is to simply go for a walk.

Write down a couple of ideas to think about while you walk, but don’t forget to let your mind wander.

Sometimes the best ideas come to us when we let them “run in the background” while we’re doing something else.

Some Leanpub authors love to record voice memos when they walk around, when ideas come to them.

Then, when they get back home, they can use an app to transcribe their notes, and voila - they’ve essentially written something.

Remember, while writing involves a lot of hard work and a certain amount of grinding, it all comes from your ideas - and those can come to you during a walk as well as they can come from sitting in front of a keyboard.
