Lean Publishing Tip of the Day: Boost Your Book Sales with a Discount QR Code Campaign

QR codes make it really easy for people to use their phone to get to a web page: they just point their phone at the QR code with their camera on, and they’ll go to the corresponding page.

QR codes are a fun way to give people discounts on your book’s normal price and increase your sales.

But as familiar as we all are with using QR codes, creating them yourself can seem like a daunting challenge.

Why do self-published authors use QR codes?

QR codes make it really easy for people to use their phone to get to a web page: they just point their phone at the QR code with their camera on, and they’ll go to the corresponding page.

In a sense, they function like a physical web link. Instead of clicking a link on a computer screen with your mouse, you point a device at something printed out in the real world.

They’re useful in way more places than giant billboards and restaurants!

For example, if you’re giving a reading and signing copies of your book for your fans, you can print a QR code and put it on the table for people to scan, taking them anywhere you want them to go on the web.

It’s not that complicated to create a discount coupon link for your ebook on Leanpub, or to get a QR code, but there are a few steps involved!
