About the Book
The book will take a course through what I consider killer features of PHP7 to the more mundane new features. I thought it made sense to split these up because not everybody has the stamina to launch through an exhaustive list of new features.
Then we’ll look at how to get PHP7 up and running on your machine. We’ll try to make sure that you’re able to revert to your current configuration, but please do make sure you have proper backups so that you can restore your settings if you find PHP7 is not compatible with your project.
Finally we’ll be examining how to migrate your existing code to run on your new PHP7 interpreter. Part of the reluctance to upgrade to PHP7 comes from the uncertainty of wondering “will it work”. We’ll look at ways to deal with this and move forwards with confidence.
