About the Author
I've always been a writer. My journal entries are no less than 10 pages long, on good days. So, why am I not published already? Because talking about how the cat got his head stuck in my shoe, my other half forgot to pick up his socks, again, and my teenager has holes in her brand new shoes already really isn't going to fly of the shelves now is it?
That doesn't mean that my life, now 37 years long, is not worth writing about. It is and I do it all the time. It's just not what I want to keep writing about. I got into this novel writing thing with my daughter, 50k words in 30 days (NanoWrimo.org) and not only did I reach the goal before the 30 days was up, I loved writing about stuff other than my life. Creating places, people, and situations was amazing. I think the best part, for me, though was the goal setting and reachiing. At the end of each day. Reaching the goal I'd set was more rewarding and motivating than anything I had ever done in my life. Having a small goal of say 1000 words was nice, but to really push myself, I found I was having to set goals of 5,000 to 7,000 words before I really felt challenged. It was a beautiful thing. When I reached the actual goal of 50k, I had a little party. I even baked a cake. Call it cheesy, but I'm making it a tradition. I will celebrate and have a cake everytime I reach my 50 thousand word goal. It's a feat. Don't believe me, give it a try. Happy Writing!!!
