About the Book
Re/Balance is an attempt at exploring some of the painful and sometimes contradicting behaviours either side of the client / agency fence. Why clients ask for agile development but hand out fixed scope briefs? Why agencies are so expensive and seemingly only care about invoicing? Why are product releases so stressful? What would it take for clients to let go of some control and agencies to put some skin in the game?
Client / agency relationships are unbalanced. Clients take most of the risks, but also most of the rewards (if things go well). Agencies barely take any risks, their income almost guaranteed regardless of actual product performance. I believe this is the source of many of the behaviours we see in the industry.
If you work in the digital industry you have probably experienced some of these pains and Re/Balance will probably resonate and be of interest to you.
