About the Book
My name is David Talamelli, I am an IT Recruitment Professional based in Australia. I have been in the IT Recruitment Industry since 1999 working in a variety of Agency, RPO and internal recruitment roles. In 2006 I joined Oracle and gained exposure across the Asia Pacific region.
As a Recruiter I use many of the social networking tools available to be effective in my role. In 2008 when I was actively recruiting a number of roles across a range of skill sets I was finding that candidates and people interested in Oracle as a potential employer were looking for information about what it is like to work here and find out some of the things that we are doing besides just our job openings. This thinking led me to the world of blogging and using blogs to share my thoughts and ideas with a larger audience.
This book is a collection of those blog posts written over the years, that I hope you find useful, helpful or entertaining.
With blogging I wanted to give people a forum and be able to share information that will help people in their job search. This could be information about Oracle, Job Hunting tips, Social Networking advice/reviews, etc... I hope these blogs help in some way.
In this book are various blog posts that I have written from 2008 to 2012. These are my thoughts that I have collected and put to paper over the years. This is not a self help book or a book showing tips and tricks on how to find a job or how to hire great people. It really is as the title suggests – random thoughts from a Corporate Recruiter on either Recruitment, Job Searching or Social Media (for job searching).
One of the main reasons I wanted to create this book is for my own personal use. Looking back at all the posts I have written, I wanted to find a way to not lose those thoughts in time that I have had. I hope some of these posts are relevant, useful or entertaining for you as well. I would love to hear your feedback.
I hope you enjoy
