Showing Reader Count Of The Previous Edition Of A Book

As one of our authors pointed out (thanks Reg!), when you publish a new edition of a book, it would be a good idea to show the reader count of the previous edition as a form of social proof regarding the book’s popularity.

So, we have built a feature that does this. Here’s an example of what a “previous edition” book landing page looks like https://leanpub.com/javascript-allonge, and here’s an example of what a “new edition” book landing page looks like https://leanpub.com/javascriptallongesix.

If you’ve written a book that has a previous edition, we encourage you to use this feature to help drive more sales!

To set up a book as a previous edition of a newer edition, select “Book Details” under “Book Info” in your book tools or go here https://leanpub.com/YOURBOOK/edit_book_details and replace “YOURBOOK” with your book’s slug.
