Orphaned by the humans, Gem is raised by Lumis, a wise white tiger who teaches him to respect all animals. Despite his efforts, other creatures see him as a predator. Alongside his friends—Slash, a fierce tiger; Ben, a gentle triceratops; and Blue Leaf, a young blue brontosaurus—Gem helps animals affected by the ruthless Scales Empire, a human faction in dinosaur armor and wielding deadly weapons.

Their journey takes them through diverse biomes, from dark forests to glowing jungles, where they rescue Princess Pelissa, a lost human girl. As Gem and Pelissa grow closer, Lu, a mystical butterfly spirit, grants them the power to understand each other and defend against the Scales Empire. But when Emperor James Scales and his scientist, Dr. Meddles, create a superweapon to brainwash animals, Gem and his friends must stop them before it's too late.
